Slideshare is a new service (similar to YouTube) that allows you to upload and distribute slideshows that you have built in PowerPoint or open office docs. (.ppt, .pps, or .odp).

I haven’t tested it myself, but I signed up right away as soon as I heard about it on Marketing.fm’s blog. Talk about how powerful word of mouth advertising can be! lol

I entered into the world of Internet / Affiliate marketing a few weeks ago just as people were posting about the death of Internet Marketing. I’m a real noob when it comes to Internet Marketing, but I’m learning a little each day.

I enjoyed a posting by Web Marketing… Beyond the Basics titled Resurrection and Rebirth of Internet Marketing. In my opinion, it relates to what John Reese was trying to communicate in his The Biggest Myth About Building Wealth video. It seems the tides are changing and everyone is starting to post about quality instead of quantity. Building a successful site in a niche market and then working on making that site the biggest and best it can be seems to be the new way to go. That is only if you’re serious and looking for a long term business that you can bet your retirement on.

Personally I feel this is the ultimate goal. The long term perspective. But it’s not where my priorities are at the moment. I know that maybe I should consider this approach when starting off, but my financial situation forces me to choose a more short term approach.

My goals in the short term are to create small niche driven adsense sites that will bring in a constant stream of income (as little as it may be). This in turn will reduce my financial burden of living pay check to pay check. It will allow me to work less over time and have more time to spend on learning the Internet Marketing game. Once my situation is improved, I can begin the transition into building a long lasting business online.

Not really, but he’s most recent email was titled as such. Apparently there was a heated discussion on his The Biggest Myth About Building Wealth video that resulted in John creating a new video called a A Focussed Flood of Income.

Sometimes what we say can be easily misunderstood. After listening to the first video, I thought he going against the underachiever model. I understood what he said and did agree with his points, but felt he was contradicting some of his earlier teachings. I’m glad he produced a new video to clear things up.

I enjoy learning from John and look forward to more videos and emails from him. Keep up the good work John.

I came across this site called Blog-Blast N Cash via a posting in the Web Marketing Google Group. Has anyone used this site? Apparently they will post your text ad on various blogs related to your topic/keyword driving targeted traffic to your site. What are you thoughts?

My props go to John Jantsch of Duck Tape Marketing for his generosity towards this single mom who sent him a simple email.

The mom wrote him to state she would like to buy his book, but being a single mom of two young kids, working full time, and going back to school, she couldn’t afford to spend any money on herself.  John said that the email took his breath away and will be giving her a copy of his book.

This post got my attention because I can relate to her situation.  I’m a father of two young children (boy 2  years old, girl 4 months old), married and sole income provider.  I’ve been working 14-16 hour days trying to get enough extra money to buy a few Christmas gifts and pay on the bills.  I travel over 100 kms (62 miles) to get to work regardless of the weather (blizzards).  I spend all my free time (after the kids are in bed) studying online marketing and business.  Times are hard, but we’ll survive.

So to hear of this man’s generosity, it just touches my heart and I had to post to give him the recognition he deserves.
