I owe Napoleon Hill a beer.
June 30, 2007
Focus has to be one of the most important determinants that will decide your success or failure in life. Napoleon Hill said it best when he said you need to have a “definite of purpose”. I don’t have a definite of purpose, I have yet to figure out exactly what I want from life. I have many very specific ideas on what would make my life better and what things would give me peace and enjoyment in my life. One example of this is the purchase of a second hand 4×4 polaris quad that I can use to take my son fishing. I have a burning desire to make this a reality so much it gives me the fuel I need to continue night after night for little in return. I know in my mind that this will be a reality, it’s only a matter of time. I have already imagined what it would be like to take my son out for the day, just the two of us, spending time, bonding. I can see the excitement in his eyes as he shows his mom the fish that he caught that day and tells his story about what we did.
The point is you need to know why you’re doing what you’re doing and have a burning desire to obtain what it is you’re trying to obtain. You need to want it so badly that it’s not a question about if you’ll obtain it, it’s only a question about when you’ll obtain it. Take your desires, figure out a way to obtain it, make a plan to obtain it, and than work your plan.
Sounds simple enough, but this is no easy task. What are your desires, what do you want from life? Majority of people never figure this out. Mostly because they never take the time to think about it. They live their life and react to things that happen around them, usually blaming faith or others for all things negative in their life.
I used to think the same thing and in some ways I still do. I used to think that I would never be successful because I didn’t have what other successful people have. I used to think that life was unfair. I no longer think like this. I know that life is what I make of it and I’m working on changing my stars.
Who do I owe the honor of changing the way I think? Napoleon Hill of course. I am still amazed that the information he taught back in the early 1900s are just as applicable today as they were back then. Nothing has changed. Sure we live in a completely different world now but our minds are still the same. Our thoughts make our life and our thoughts are what we make of it. We control our thoughts, we have the power, we just rarely use it.
If there’s nothing else in this world that I can say, it’s this. Become obsessed with Napoleon Hill and his teachings and you’re guaranteed to succeed.

Turn boring chores into success.
June 30, 2007
One of the things I hate most is the boring daily household chores that one has to attend to. The cleaning of the kitty litter, the taking out the trash, doing the dishes, etc. You know the things that can take you half the night to get done. I hate doing it and would rather just pay someone to do it for me. Unfortunately I can’t afford to pay someone so I’m left to doing it myself.
One day while doing the dishes I had a thought. I figured that if I give my mind something else to do while I was doing the chore the chore wouldn’t seem so bad. I’ve been improving myself through self help audio programs on my mp3 player so I decided to listen to this whenever I have a boring task repetitive task to perform. This made a profound difference in my mental attitude towards the tasks that I dreaded so much. Now I don’t mind doing them as long as I have my mp3 player.
So if you’re like me I highly recommend getting a mp3 player and start listening to those audio programs today. You won’t regret it.
I’m a big fan of anything by Napoleon Hill. I find it so amazing that the things he taught back in the early 1900s is just as applicable today as it was back then. Follow his work and your bound to become a success.

Knock, Knock… Who’s There?
June 22, 2007
Opportunity can knock when you least expect it. I was at work, minding my own business, when a co-worker next to me was talking about his obsession with ******. This guy loves these ******. This got my market radar tingling. I thought to myself that if this guys loves these ****** so much he’ll probably enjoy talking about them and if he enjoys talking about them, he’ll enjoy blogging about them.
Immediately I jumped on Overture, Google Keywords, and Wordtracker free keywords to check the niche. Good news, the niche is pretty good.
So I asked him if he could write something about ***** at least once per day for about 5 days a week. He said he could and a partnership was formed and the site was born. He’ll handle providing the content for the site and I’ll handle all marketing, advertising, domain, hosting, and maintenance. Instead of paying him for the content we’re going to split all revenue. I installed the Author Adsense wordpress plugin which will display his adsense ads 50% of the time. I also created a Campaign in Auctionads to keep track of all revenue generated from eBay.
Time will tell how success this partnership will be. It’s a great feeling of relief when I’m not responsible for writing the content.
(sorry for **** the niche, prefer to keep it private for now. I’m sure you understand! )

John Reese’s Secret to Becoming Wealthy Online.
June 19, 2007
Becoming successful online is very hard. No one can tell you any different. It takes a lot of time, dedication, and work. Although the work is not physically hard, it stressful mentally.
Take me as an example. My day consists of getting up at 6am to get ready for work. I travel 45 minutes to work, work my shift, and return home again by 6pm. I listen to self help audio books, seminars, etc on my mp3 player for the trip to work and back as well during my breaks and lunch during work. Once home, I spend time with my two children, have something to eat, and put them to bed. By the time I get the kids in bed it’s usually between 10pm to 10:30pm. By this time most people are ready to pass out and call it a day, but not me.
This is when I start my 2nd job. From 10:30pm to 12:30am I work on my sites and my efforts to make money online. It’s hard work with little return ($0.30-$1.00 average total between all sites), but I understand that it will take a lot of work and patience before things will turn around.
One problem that I keep having is keeping focused. I spoke about this in the past. I start a new project, work on it, get distracted with something new and move on. I think the problem is two-fold.? I know that it’s my own problem and that I need to stop moving from project to project and put more energy into one project. Many experts tell me this, and I fully understand, but do I listen. Not really. Why?? I think it’s because I’m in a state is desperation. I need my situation to improve now. My mind understands that it will take time for a site to become successful, but it fears that it will be all in vain. I can’t afford to work on a failure. To think that I can dedicate myself 110% to a project for months to end up with a failure is too much. So I start something, work on it, find something that seems to be better and move on.
Yeah it’s stupid and obviously my track record shows that moving from project to project is not working, so why do I continue doing it? I can’t answer that. It’s a problem that I’m working on.
Now you might be asking what all this has to do with John Reese’s secret to becoming wealthy online? That’s easy. I’m struggling to make money online, but the fact is that I’m struggling alone. John’s recent post “Here’s The Big Secret To Becoming An Internet Millionaire” made me realize that I need to reach out and make friends with more people online. It’s not that I have been avoiding people, I’ve just been busy. I’ve been busy trying to make money instead of making friends, but it’s your friends online who could prove to be your greatest asset. It’s like John said, “Being able to LEVERAGE all of those Internet marketing assets that are owned by others”.
I thank John for his posts. He has always practiced what he preaches and I know that his new company Income.com will be a major success. I wish you all the best John and best of success to Income.com. It’s will be an invaluable tool for everyone who’s looking to make money online.
