Learning to create Facebook Applications..
September 24, 2007
I decided on Friday that I want to learn how to create facebook applications. I’m already experienced with php programming, so in theory the creating of facebook applications seem pretty simple.
I played around with it all weekend and admit I’m pleased with it.
That’s not to say I wasn’t frustrated though. It took a while to figure out how to get things going with php4 and most of the documentation examples are written for php5. There’s a lot of documentation on their site as well, but I didn’t find it very useful.
For a simple task like creating and updating a profile box took over a day to figure out and I never found the answer first or last through the documentation. I finally gave up looking and posted it in the forum, where I received the answer within an hour.
All in all, I’m excited about programming in facebook. I look forward to incorporating the Thirty Day Challenge and other IM techniques into facebook applications.

I made a sale following the Thirty Day Challenge!
September 13, 2007
Hey folks!
Remember back in August I said that I was taking part in this year’s Thirty Day Challenge hosted by Ed Dale and Dan Raine?
Well I didn’t win by earning $10 during the month of August, but I learned some amazing things. In fact, I’ve been implementing these techniques and strategies on a daily basis since.
I’m proud to say that it’s starting to pay off as I’ve received a sale! Sure it was only one sale and sure it was only $13.35 commission, but that’s fine with me. You can’t walk a mile without taking your first step. You can’t make your million without making your first dollar either.
Although I currently average about $30 a month from my online activities, I’m proud of my $13.35!!!
If you’re interested in making money online and want to earn your first $10, check out the Thirty Day Challenge. You can also download all training material on the torrent network.
A word of advice, don’t just download the torrents. Take part in the challenge and use all resources available. You won’t be sorry!
Here are my recommended resources:
- Thirty Day Challenge Site – Official site of the Thirty Day Challenge. Don’t forget to read over the blog posts during the pre-season to make sure you’re ready.
- Thirty Day Challenge Training via Torrent – I repackaged and uploaded the training, but it’s no substitute for the original. Useful for those who have slow/poor internet connections.
- Mike Mindel’s Blog – Training Notes. Mike’s notes are just too awesome for words.
- Ed Dale’s Twitter – Keep up on what Ed is twittering about.
- Dan Raine’s Twitter – Keep up on what Dan is twittering about.
There are other excellent resources, but these are the main ones.

Thirty Day Challenge… Been there, done that!
September 5, 2007
Sorry guys. I know I said that I’ll post any awesome tips/tricks I learn along the way. I learned a lot from the Thirty Day Challenge, but I didn’t get a chance to post here.
I found that when I started the challenge I had to make a decision to put everything on hold. I just didn’t have the time after working all day and taking care of two kids (3 yo and 1 yo) to keep up with the training and keep my sites updated.
I had to prioritize and learning the Thirty Day Challenge was very important to me. I hope you guys understand.
If you’re curious about how well I did during the challenge… Well lets just say I won’t be buying a corvette any time soon.? But seriously, I didn’t care if I made any money or not during the challenge because it was the process I was interested in learning.
Except for a few bumps and a few area of improvement in how the training was delivered, I think the guys did an awesome job!? I enjoyed the entire challenge so much so that in fact I decided to only follow their teachings from now on.? Sure I’ll learn other things, but it will be these guys that I will continue to follow the most.
I look forward to when I can join the Immediate Edge.
Talk to ya later,
~Shannon
