Week Two Review

January 14, 2008

Well… Another week is over…  I am pleased that I managed to get another week done without getting distracted by other things.  I fell a little behind this week, but managed to get caught up today.  I’m glad I decided to take the 7th day of each week as a day of rest or catch up. It really came in handy.

I’m still hoping to be able to get ahead of my work and have a little free time to give you guys an idea on exactly what I’m doing for the last two weeks and an update on the progress of my project.

Well, gotta run folks.

Speak soon,
~Shannon

p.s.  This post was created directly in this browser I just installed.  It’s called flock and it seems pretty awesome.  I like the tools that are part of the browser to keep up to date on twitter, facebook, rss feeds, etc…  Plus the fact that I can post directly to my blog while I’m anywhere on the net is cool.

Damn… my harddrive crashed…

January 13, 2008

Actually it didn’t, but I would be absolutely lost if it did.  Can you imagine how you would feel if you lost everything you have saved on your computer?

I can’t imagine losing everything….  I have over 60 Gigs of family photos alone.  Not to mention my internet marketing material, personal documents, my sites, ftp backups, etc, etc, and etc.

It would take months to get back up and running again and to be honest I’m really not interested in dealing with it.

I started thinking about using an online backup service to backup all my files to an offsite location after Lynn over at ClickNewz recommended this one.   At first I thought I would just get a new hard drive to put all my files on so that if one hard drive crashes I would still have the other.

This seemed like a great idea, but what happens if we have a flood or fire?  I would still lose everything.  Hmmm, on second thought, maybe a second hard drive is not such a good idea.  So I decided to get an online backup service and so that all my files are backed up automatically and I don’t need to worry about it.

I decided this about a month or so ago and I still haven’t done anything to backup my files.  I’m a disaster waiting to happen.  I actually forgot about it until today when Adomas over at IncomeHero posted that his computer crashed and he has to start his project all over again from scratch, ouch.

After reading this and the fact that I can get unlimited online backup for $4.95 a month, I figured it’s well worth the investment.

If you can’t afford to lose your files, I highly recommend getting this service for $4.95 a month, I know I will be.

When a ? is not a question…

January 13, 2008

I apologize for the state of my previous posts… I updated my database from mysql4 to mysql5 and apparently  it caused a lot of spaces to turn into question marks.

So if you’re reading back through my posts and see?a lot of question?marks, just know this is why. :)

A quick update at 3am…

January 8, 2008

As I mentioned before, I have the entire month of January mapped out into a daily action plan based on the TDC strategy.

Today was day 7 of the first week and my day of rest (or catch up) and I celebrated my successful week by watching the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

I must admit that I’m very pleased with how this week turned out.  I followed my daily tasks and except for a few things out of my control (internet issues, slow computer, etc) it was a very productive week.

So with that, I start a new week tomorrow.  It’s 3:00 am here now, so I’m just going to be off to bed.  If time allows next week and I can get through my workload, I’ll give you guys a better update on this week. :)

As Ed would say… Speak soon,

Year in Review - 2007

January 7, 2008

2008 is going to be my year… I know it in my heart and I’m making it my reality with action. I’m taking a new approach and following a new strategy for 2008.

With that being said, here’s a recap of my 2007 earnings…

————————————-

Google Adsense - $363.49
Clickbank - $26.70
Commission Junction - $3.84
Amazon Associates - Canada - $71.76
Amazon Associates - US - $10.71
Amazon Associates - UK (in GBP) - $9.98
Auction Ads - $0.19
CanadianSponsors.com - $3.75
Other / Miscellaneous - $150.00

Grand Total for 2007 $640.42

————————————-

There are two ways of looking at these numbers… I could look at them and think, my God, this is terrible… After an entire year I’ve only made $640.

Or I could look at them and think… I’ve doubled my earnings from the previous year, I’ve learned a hell of a lot, and I’m on the road to success.

I prefer to look at the positive… I’ve had a successful year in 2007, but my goals for 2008 will be much higher, but realitic.

I look forward to 2008…
