Check out the new version of the WP Text Ads WordPress plugin available from my good friend Alex over at WPTextAds.com. With the release of this new version comes an integrated marketplace. Personally I’m really pleased with the marketplace because it allows advertisers to quickly and easily find potential sites to purchase links. It also includes at a glance all the main details that an advertiser will need when determining the best place to purchase links at the most reasonable price available.
One of the biggest benefits of using services such as text-link-ads.com over a standalone plugin such as WP Text Ads is their ability to bring advertisers and publishers together. I strongly believe that this marketplace has bridged that gap bringing WP Text Ads to a more level playing field. Especially when you consider the additional benefits of eliminating the middleman in lower cost of links for advertisers and higher profit for publishers.
So if you’re looking for an alternative to text-link-ads.com or just looking to manage your own text links, the WP Text Ads WordPress plugin is an excellent choice.

Hi,
I just want to mention that version 1.2 has been released. Among the cool new features is an API!

This WordPress plugin violates the GNU license terms. The author states that the plugin’s license is “proprietary”, but this is not allowed according to the WordPress GNU license. The author CAN sell the program, but must release full source code w/ the sale, and the purchaser is then to be allowed to modify (or not modify) and distribute the source code without limitation.
@blogcms – I think you’re wrong. WordPress itself is released under the GNU license, but authors of plugins are free to do what they want with it.
Take extensions for Joomla as an example. There are a lot of commercial extensions available for Joomla even though Joomla is released under GNU as well.
