There’s something to be said about…

There’s something to be said about being focused. This is probably one of the biggest things holding me back. I lack focus. I need to step back, take a deep breath, and concentrate on one project at a time. I spend all my time trying to learn how to make money online, but I never do anything to actually make the money. I have learned a lot of great information over the last few months. I feel like I’m heading down the correct path now, but I still feel I’m missing something.

I know there are a lot of options available. White hat, black hat, blogging, social bookmarking, etc. I know I can monetize my traffic with adsense, yahoo, info products, cj, linkshare, shareasale, etc. There’s so much information and options that I feel most people are like me and don’t know where to start.

Personally, I’ve decided to concentrate on adsense and adwords. My plans are to create sites to monetize traffic with adsense and use the profits from adsense to fund adwords campaigns to promote info products. At first, I plan to promote existing info products, however would move to outsourcing the creation of my own info products to promote. Obviously, I don’t want to base my entire business model just on Google, so I do plan to branch out as much as possible to have a backend to generate revenue.

It’s like the movie “What about Bob?”.  It’s all about “baby steps”.   I need to think small.  Just one site at a time.  Find ways to promote the site, build content for it and make it grow.  I need to take my time and allow that site to start bringing in traffic and revenue before moving on to the next project/site.  This is one of the hardest steps and that’s only because I lack confidence.  I never feel that the site will bring in any money.  Even if I’m only trying to make $1-2 per day from that site, I doubt the site will bring it in.  I need a lucky break.  I need a burst of traffic and adsense income to revive my energy.  I won’t hold my breath though! :)

Wow, I know how you feel. I have different interests and lots of energy. At face value, these can appear to be positive traits. However, on the online world, without focus, I find myself starting way too many projects.

What I’m going to try to do is keep one website that has a variety of different topics with new content daily. I’m hoping that will satiate my tendency to dumpster dive via the internet.

    That website is:

    http://www.curebug.com
    restore health, naturally

It’s a health and wellness website that has fresh updated content in the form of articles, videos, PDF’s, ebooks. That satisfies my desire to help people get well without the harmful side effects of pharmaceautical drugs.

The other site I run is to sell some land that I purchased. It’s at:

    http://www.thelanddepot.net
    affordable land in up-and-coming areas

And then there’s a website to broadcast the songs that God has given me in order to raise awareness of the persecuted church. It has free mp3’s and videos.

    http://www.outofthewilderness.net
raising a voice for the persecuted church

Still, I have several more ideas that bubble up in my head, competing for attention like discount chocolate bars sitting in a reduced-price bin after Halloween.

I feel like I could almost hire a small army, if they’d be willing to work for commission once the ideas bring in a profit.

Anyway, thanks for your commentary. I can relate.
